Rainy Days!

October, 24th 2005

We apologize for another rainy Sunday. We can't seem to catch a break with the weather.

The Pennington School is very concerned with the condition of their fields and made a late decision to cancel all activities scheduled for Sunday. We did our best to inform everyone and hope that the message was received. In the future if the weather is questionable or we have experienced a ton of rain, be sure to check your email and the website the day of the event for cancellations.

Speed and agility is Wednesday night at the Pennington Ewing Athletic Club at 6:00 P.M.

We will schedule to meet all of those who will be participating in the weekend Princeton tournament Friday night at 6:00 P.M. on our practice field at Pennington. We will distribute uniforms and schedules. In addition once the schedule is set we will post in on the website.

Thanks,

Chris

Tonight's Practice

June, 14th 2005

We are going to practice as planned tonight - but it is important that we all prepare for the heat. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day and bring a cooler with drinks to practice.

See you tonight!

Lax Max Round Up

June, 13th 2005

Congratulations to all four teams for a well played weekend of lacrosse. Playing under hot and humid conditions and with only two practices under our belts all of the teams played hard and gave their best efforts.

6th/7th Grade Team
Finished the tournament with 2 wins and 1 loss. The team persevered through game cancellations, field changes, player conflicts and keys locked in cars to put forth an excellent effort.

8th Grade Team
Finished the weekend with 4 wins and 1 loss. The weekend included an exciting overtime victory over Team Long Island - considered the top team in the division. Unfortunately they ran out of the gas in the finals, but not before mounting a late game comeback to cut the score to 7-5.

High School "B" Team
Started the tournament with a great win and ended the weekend with 1 win and 2 losses. Unfortunately one of their top players, Andrew Disdier, suffered a broken wrist in the second game. We wish Andrew a speedy recovery.

High School "A" Team
Played hard all weekend, but had a disappointing tournament with a tie and two losses. The team looks to bounce back this weekend with a full roster and another week of practice.

Overall the program was well represented, but our lack of practice time was evident. Most of the teams we faced over the weekend were rec programs or school teams that entered the tournament after three months of practices and games. True North's history has been that we show tremendous improvement each week and we expect the same from this year’s program.

Looking Ahead
1. The Annapolis schedule is posted, but we have already been warned about changes. Please check the working schedule and I will send out an "official schedule" later in the week.

2. We will implement a phone tree to alert parent's and coaches to field changes, time changes and coaches locked out of cars! This will be distributed at practice Wednesday night and it will also be posted online.

3. We will give out the Lax Max tournament t-shirts on Wednesday night at practice. They are Lax Max's best tournament shirt in years and the boy's should like them. The 8th grade team will also receive their medals on Wednesday.

Finally, I want to apologize again for the disorganized nature of the weekend. Tournaments of Lax Max's size are difficult to organize, operate and as we learned participate in. Everyone is affected by team cancellations, field changes, weather and unforeseen incidents (keys!) that we have been fortunate enough to avoid in the past. Please bookmark truenorthlacrosse.com and use it as your primary source for information. If we all refer to the club web site, the tournament web sites and effectively utilize the phone tree - we will eliminate future confusion and insure a great experience for everyone.

Let’s get back to work Tuesday night and get ready for Annapolis!

Selection Camp - Part Two

May, 26th 2005

Over 120 players attended selection camp on Monday night. Every player put forth a great effort and the level of play was excellent. Unfortunately, the number of players and skill level made it very difficult for the coaches to make decisions. For this reason we are inviting everyone back for a "Final" camp on Wednesday June, 1.

6th/7th Grade Team - 5:00 to 5:50 P.M.
8th Grade Team - 6:00 to 6:50 P.M.
High School Team - 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

We have also decided to add an additional high school team. This will give us two high school teams - Team RED & Team BLACK.

Final rosters will be posted on Thursday June 2 at 5:00 P.M.

Practice Dates (every Tuesday and Wednesday)
June 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 & 29
July 5 & 6

Practice Times
6th/7th Grade Team - 5:00 to 5:50 P.M.
8th Grade Team - 6:00 to 6:50 P.M.
High School Team(Red & Black)- 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Please forward this information on to everyone who attended the selection camp this past Monday.
